This figurine was completed prior to the destruction by allied bombing of the factory in Germany during World War II. The figural group’s footprint is 9 3/4″ by 6″ and the height is about 10. Storage of the figural group is in an amazing velvet-lined box clearly marked on a ribbon on the inside of the lid/cover The Shobido Jewelry Co. Yadoyabashi, Osaka – presumably Japan. An internet search indicated that this company was established in 1900 in Osaka. Safely in the storage box, the total weight is 9 pounds. Condition is very good – some minor lace losses (see images) – no chips or cracks to the porcelain. Dust accumulated over time has not been disturbed.
