Spectacular Early 1900s Pair Double Lighted Bronzed Sconces Neoclassic French Revival, Ornate, Old World Mass Appeal & Rare. Best pair we’ve seen in a long time. New to market; well stored past 50+ years. Is embossed on the backsides of metal. This exquisitely crafted & designed matched pair are massively impressive — look at all detailed photo carefully. These fine quality period lights are stunningly beautiful! Amazing detail, authentic form & character certainly not found in today’s lighting shops. Beauty & quality galor. Honestly hard to part with they’re so nice. Noteworthy Neoclassical French Revival Flair. The reeded encanthus leaves gracefully surround all sides of the wall base mounts, featuring a crossed ribbon at left side of each, then meet just below both the elaborately designed ancanthus crested tops & bottoms, highlighting both areas. Here, the inner domed portions have another attractive & distinctive form & are flanked on each side by large floral buttons. The equally magnificent arms feature even more elaborate ancanthus leaves; note the double- tiered ornate displays. Scrolls garniture & “beaded” designs adorning both sides of these long, gracefully curved lighting arms. Condition is excellent on the pair both aesthetically & structurally. These are very old & will require a light dusting in crevices; oops, we’ll take care of the 2 ancient cob webs seen in backside. White appearing areas to front sides are merely the result of camera’s flash. We do recommend having the old cloth wiring updated as indicated by a qualified electrician; a quick fix. One arm will need a quick turn to tighten backside nut. A pair as fine as these don’t come around often, don’t miss. Guaranteed age, authenticity, appeal.
