Antique 19th Century Superb Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Guardian Dragon or Serpent Figures/statues in Bronze and in well preserved condition, each figure being undamaged and each boasting a lovely, almost black patina from age. Each Dragon stands tall on its hind legs with its tail coiled around its rear end, in pose as though about to fend off a mighty adversary (or similar) each dragon has its jaws open exposing its fangs, the head to each dragon is crested in the traditional style with the serpentine body to each being heavily scaled and banded to the underside. Each figure stands roughly 16 inches tall (approx 41 cm) with a base width and breadth of roughly 19 cm and 12 cm. The dragons are designed so as to oppose each other, each a mirror image in reverse of itself, there is slight variation in each dragon due to the artisan hand fashioned construction. A Fine antique duo of Bronze figures that will decorate the home beautifully. The Figures are without makers marks as far as i can see and date to around circa 1860.
