This is a fine pair of tall and very imposing antique Georgian sterling silver candlesticks made by Nathaniel Smith & Co. And hallmarked in Sheffield 1809. They are in very good condition and have detachable sconces. The candlesticks and sconces are are all clearly hallmarked, the candlesticks are heavily weighted giving very good stability and the bases are baize covered. There is gadroon and shell decoration to the bases and a shell decorated band to the stem. A fine pair of Georgian silver candlesticks from this very reputable maker. Height 33 cms (13 ins). Diameter of base 15 cms (6 ins). Total weight 2460 gms (86 ozs).
