Amazing and rare pair of Large French fine porcelain benitiers- Glazed with bisque cartouche in the centre and hand decorated with 24ct gold and claret. The stoup below Christ & putti is to hold the holy water. These date from circa 1920 and came from the most impressive and elegant house in a town not too far from us and a town where many of the Limoges factories originated from – So it is most likely, although unmarked, that these are Limoges Porcelain- but they could equally be Old Paris Porcelain- whichever they are quality pieces and to find a pair of was so exciting. Size- Height 12.5 OR 32 cms. Max Width 6.75/17cms. Condition – Superb – outstanding condition- very little rub, no chips, cracks or crazing – these have been treasured pieces. They do have wires that have been loosely fastened around to secure to the wall – these could easily be removed if required. Any questions please do not hesitate to convo us. The blue one was made by W. W Hong Kong as it’s showing in the photos. The other one is marked Z 3 on the bottom. This set is in great condition for its age. The ball on the blue figurine was repaired as shown in the photos. This is the only flaw on both bookends. The dimensions are different as shown in the photos. The dimensions for the blue one are 14 X 6 X 4. The other one is 13.5 X 7 X 4.5. They are so heavy. The weight is about 11.5 LB. The colors are so amazing. They are so beautiful. Large Foo Dog Pair Blue and Green Ceramic Guardian Lions Mid Century – 1960’s. Handsome pair of large vintage Chinese foo dogs, with classic features and popular green-blue glazing. Mint condition, mid century! There is so much finely molded style to these vintage ceramic guardian lions, with superb all over detailing. Their stance is fierce, with reticulated faces. They feature sharp teeth, intense eyes, and winged ears. The impressive mane has classic curly locks cascading down the sides and back. The tail is thick with a swirly point. Both are beautifully glazed with shades of green and blue over a cream color ceramic. This striking vintage ceramic foo dog pair is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Both stand 7.25 inches tall and are 5.75 inches wide. They are unmarked but are mid century Taiwan statues. There is some minor crazing.
