Another item from Country Artifacts, Great Northern Liquidation, Springfield, Vermont. Vintage Mirrored Pair of Oriental Floral Satsuma Moriage Porcelain Table Lamps. This wonderful vintage pair of lamps came from an old Vermont estate. They are brown tone porcelain lamps with wooden bases and brass hardware, the porcelain decorated in the manner of Japanese. Moriage (raised decoration on the hand painted surface, particularly to the little bumps and lines of the flowers and stems). I couldn’t find a mark, so I don’t know their origin, but I feel they are from Japan, probably from the 1950’s (mid-20th Century), give or take. They home they are from would support that theory in terms of age. They were rewired or renewed at some point, in that one socket is newer than the other, and the wires look about the same newer age. They lamps are fully functional with 3-way turn sockets. The lamps measure as follows: 8″ diameter max (at the wooden base, which is felt padded), 18-1/2″ high to the bottom of the socket, 29-1/2 high to the top of the harp (excluding the finial screw), add to that the fabulous brass finials shown. The harp is removable and can be replaced with a different one when you go pick out a shade at your local lamp shop. Condition is very good overall, with no chips or cracks to the porcelain.
