Stunning pair of mid 19th Century urn shape, cobalt ground urns mounted as lamps and retailed by Nicholas Haydon with hand-painted gilded scrolls with central cartouches. Each urn features hand-painted courting scenes, signed’Lancry’, the reverse painted with landscape views, with sides having gilt-bronze medallions and bronze mounts. The urns are mounted as lamps on gold damask fabric covered wood tiers, base retains the original foil lamp sticker’Nicholas Haydon Lamps & Shades 29 West 56th St NYC North Ave Palm Beach’ E. Lancry was a renowned painter of French porcelains in the mid 19th Century. Lamps measure 28″ high to top of finial (Urn mount is 12 ½” high to top of cap) Lamp is 23″ high to top of socket x 6 ¾” x 6 ¾ at base. Lamps are in overall Exceptional antique condition, note the lamps have their original wiring and work without issue, there is very minimal paint loss to urns with some minor tarnishing to the gilt paint. The urns are slightly loose and do turn as they are attached in two pieces and are currently attached and cannot be tightened without removing from the lamp bases. The lamp is very secure and stable and once in desired place, does not move. The damask fabric, possibly made of silk, shows some wear and is frayed in areas showing through the wood underneath. Vintage Pair Of Chinese Cobalt Blue Lamps. A very interesting pair of vintage cobalt blue porcelain glazed vases all vintage turned into lamps during the mid century Modern period. The measurements all the way to the top of the lamp to where the shade sits including the ebonized based is 39″ tall but actual vases is 18″. The wiring is from the 1950’s or 60’s. The vases have a wonderful form like ming vases in a museum with rich glazed cobalt blue almost black color. A very special type of glaze that is very smooth. No breaks, cracks, or repairs. Antique Pair French Sevres Urns Lamps Cobalt Blue Gilt Porcelain Brass Large

ANTIQUE PAIR FRENCH LARGE URNS OR LAMPS. COBALT ROYAL BLUE, GILT ON PORCELAIN WITH BRASS BASES AND TRIM. COURTING GARDEN SCENE (ONE SIDE). HEIGHT: 14 3/4 BASE TO TOP OF FINIAL. WIDTH: 5″ BASE, 6 1/4″ WING TO WING. This pair of beautiful cobalt blue antique urns are also lamps. (with parts that have never been assembled). And are part of an estate. (single owner who displayed them on mantel). I chose not to unscrew the lamp bottoms to check for Sevres stamp due to age and tightness of screws, but appear identical. In style, coloring, painting, and gilt to Sevres similar pieces. Cobalt blue, hand painted courting scene on front, gilt floral on back and around paintings. Paint and gilt on porcelain are intact. There is shelf wear/some dust and a little dirt from age. Underside of brass shows mild signs of corrosion. No corrosion on upper sides/brass trim. But one has lower stem of the upper left decorative wing/handle that broken off. (see photos for all details described). The top of each has lamp parts screwed in place (including finials, easy to remove). The bottom and top show that there has been a hole drilled in each for lamp wiring. Can be displayed as urns or wired for lamps. Because I cannot l. Ocate a makers mark on these urns/lamps and they may be Sevres, one is perfect, and the other has a broken “wing” piece, I have tried to price fairly without confirming Sevres mark. Pair Large Cobalt Blue over Clear Glass Cut Overlay Kerosene Style Lamps ca1920

This beautiful pair of lamps are in the same style as the glass overlay lamps from the 1860’s and 1870’s. But dates to the first quarter of the 20th century. They are much larger than those earlier kerosene lamps. In fact, they are similar in size to some of the. The font and stem has a thin layer of cobalt blue glass over clear glass and a series of circles. Squares and star forms have been cut through the blue layer to form the bold pattern. To add to the grandeur of these antique lamps, the stepped base is constructed of two layers of marble. With a patterned brass break between them. The style and proportions of the stem compliment both the. Base and font perfectly. The delicate acid etched slant shades are original Victorian and older than the lamps. The lamps are working, one knob to turn the lamp on and off appears to be a replacement. Overall, these lamps are in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or damage of any kind. This rare and lovely cobalt blue cut to clear glass overlay lamp pair of lamps would be a wonderful addition. Height to the top of the burner (17 3/4). Height to the top of the chimney (26).
